FOUNDER'S STORY

The D.E.B. Project was created from the heart of Sammy Laney to honor her dear friend Deborah Murray.

Sammy began this organization in June 2012, by reaching out to foster parents in the area.  After noticing a greater need, she began reaching out to  school districts to see how she could help more families and children in need with clothing.  It was then that she started the D.E.B. Project with the idea that every child should feel deserving, enriched and blessed.

In April of 2015, the D.E.B. Project received their 501(c)3 and officially became a nonprofit organization.

The D.E.B. Project continues to provide clothes and other essential items to foster children and others as well as stocking a community closet in Kansas, OK. The D.E.B. Project thrift boutique opened in April of 2016, selling new and gently used clothing and other items to the general public. All profits from the store and all donated funds go to support the D.E.B. Project's charitable projects.

In loving memory of Deborah Murray
